Compensation: Starting at $185,000 annually + Federal Student Loan Forgiveness Eligibility
About the Role:
A federally qualified health center (FQHC) in San Antonio is seeking a mission-driven Internal Medicine Physician to join its growing team at a newly opened clinic on the city's south side. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality primary care to a diverse adult patient population (18+), with a focus on promoting wellness, disease prevention, and continuity of care in an outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive physical exams and develop appropriate care plans.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
- Interpret laboratory and diagnostic results and prescribe treatments as indicated.
- Provide patient education on healthy lifestyle choices, including hygiene, diet, and disease prevention.
- Refer patients to appropriate specialists in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to meet quality and outcome goals.
- Participate in after-hours coverage and agency-wide quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in compliance with medical standards and privacy regulations (HIPAA).
- Uphold the mission and values of the organization through ethical, patient-centered care.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO from an accredited U.S. medical school
- Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program
- Active Texas medical license (or eligibility)
- DEA license and current physician's permit
- CPR certification
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Experience in an outpatient or community health setting strongly preferred
- Must be eligible for FTCA medical liability coverage
