Position Summary:

In our Retail locations, our mission is brought to life daily, and as a Non-Accredited Foreign Graduate, you play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy teams. This position allows you to develop your professional skills in order to prepare for increased responsibilities.

Upon successfully passing FPGEE and TOEFL, you will be eligible to fulfill your required internship hours while applying your pharmacy school knowledge in real-world settings, enhancing your readiness for a Pharmacist role. Under the guidance of your preceptor, you'll follow a comprehensive learning plan designed to refine your knowledge and skills. Our Non-Accredited Foreign Graduates must successfully complete their internship within 18 months and be ready to pass all required Pharmacist licensure exams within 120 days after completing the required hours.

Through hands-on experience, a structured training roadmap, Key Learning Experiences (KLEs), and interactions with leaders in your district, you'll deepen your understanding of pharmacy practice while actively participating in patient care scenarios. You'll also gain insights into improving pharmacy performance and develop leadership skills needed to engage your pharmacy team and drive positive business results. In the pharmacy, you'll assist with smooth operations, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, all while delivering service that goes above and beyond patient expectations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to company standard operating procedures (SOPs) at workstations to support Pharmacists and Technicians in managing patient health.
  • Following pharmacy workflow procedures to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Enhancing patient experiences through empathy and genuine care, including offering immunizations and other services over the phone and at the register.
  • Providing counseling, addressing medical inquiries, and gathering a patient's medical history to ensure optimal care under a licensed pharmacist's supervision.
  • Handling telephonic prescriptions from prescribers, clarifying prescriptions, or facilitating medication changes in compliance with state regulations.
  • Mentoring and providing guidance to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
  • Participating in basic inventory activities as directed by the pharmacy leadership.
  • Embracing a team-oriented mindset and actively seeking knowledge to better assist patients.
  • Adaptability to scheduling and business needs while contributing to an inclusive and engaging team environment.
  • Understanding and complying with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical principles.
  • Delivering additional patient healthcare services, such as immunizations, where permitted by law and following required training.

Additional responsibilities for supporting immunizations may include:

  • Completing licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
  • Educating patients on vaccine importance and directing them to Pharmacist-on-duty for vaccination queries.
  • Monitoring and responding to adverse reactions and reporting them as required by public health regulations.
  • Reviewing patient information and documentation related to vaccinations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate from a Non-US Accredited college of pharmacy prior to joining the training program at CVS.
  • FPGEC certification.
  • Pharmacist licensure in your state within 120 days of completing internship hours. Non-completion of your internship within 18 months or failure to obtain licensure will result in termination of employment.
  • Possession or in-process of obtaining valid intern or technician licensure as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Physical Demands: Capability to remain mobile and standing for long periods, lift items, and perform various physical tasks.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
  • Ability to achieve immunization certification as required by state regulations.
  • Flexibility to work in home location and other locations as business needs arise.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

Pay Range:

The typical pay range for this role is $30.00 - $42.00.
