Faculty position employed by the University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine, practicing in UT Health East Texas facilities.
UT Tyler School of Medicineseeks a Faculty Auld CF Pulmonary Physician to join our health system comprised of 10 hospitals and more than 70 physician clinics.The ideal candidate would be BC/BE and eligible for licensure in Texas. They would also be team oriented and motivated by the opportunity to contribute to a growing academic environment.
About this Position:
This position will be replacing a retiring physician who currently heads our adult cystic fibrosis program. We are looking for someone to transition into her role. We are happy to consider candidates who practice pulmonary medicine or general internal medicine in addition to their CF responsibilities.
The CF Center at the University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHSCT) at Tyler is located in North East Texas, a predominantly rural area of approximately 17,456 square miles with a population of 2 million people. The CF Center at UTHSCT is the only CF Center in Northeast Texas. It is 100 miles from the CF Center in Dallas and the CF Center in Shreveport, LA., and about 200 miles from the Houston CF Center.
Caring for children and adults, the CF Center provides comprehensive services ranging from evaluation and diagnosis to treatment, patient education, teaching and research. The CF Center has been an affiliated (UT Southwestern) CF Center accredited by the CFF since 1985.
The CF Center at UTHSCT serves a vital role in the region. We care for people who would otherwise not have access to care by a CF center. The CF Center offers the only accredited sweat-chloride testing center in the region, and our medical director works along side physicians nationally known for their work in bronchiectasis and in non-tuberculous mycobacterial disease.

The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh in The University of Texas System. It will also aid as part of a medical education program expansion throughout the UT Health East Texas Health System. The building is scheduled for completion in fall of 2025.
