Internship Program: Project Management Intern - Summer 2025Who We Are: Western Industrial is a family-owned specialty construction company specializing in Mining and Pipeline Services. We work with some of the largest mining and natural gas companies in the U.S. such as Freeport McMoRan, Rio Tinto, Kinder Morgan, and Energy Transfer. We cover the western U.S. with most of our projects taking place in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Colorado. Summary/Objective: The position of the Project Management Intern is to gain a better understanding of the Mining and Pipeline services construction processes - from estimating, pre-construction, procurement, construction, to the project closeout phase. Overview:
  • This paid internship will be in our Apache Junction, Arizona office.
  • Approximately 12 weeks with future opportunities if you are a good fit.
  • 40 hours per week.
Essential Functions may include:
  • Perform takeoffs for project estimation.
  • Assist in material procurement and sourcing.
  • Communicate with vendors and obtain pricing quotes.
  • Support estimating and project management teams with project tasks.
  • Assist with software integration and implementation of HCSS (an industry leading construction software) for Heavy Bids (Estimating platform), Heavy Jobs (Project Management platform), and Equipment 360 (Equipment Management platform).
  • Review and update project documentation, including as-builts and redlines.
  • Participate in site visits to assess project progress and gather data. Out of state travel may be required.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Candidate must be in their Junior or Senior at an accredited 4-year College or University - Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree. The ideal candidate should maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better. Candidate should be eligible for full time employment on or before Summer 2026.
