New Directions Mental Health is excited to welcome Therapist Interns to our dedicated team! As an intern, you will have the rewarding opportunity to treat patients directly in a clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of a supervisor:

• Conduct culturally sensitive and strength-based assessments for new patients and their families.
• Provide individual and family therapy tailored to the identified needs of patients.
• Complete essential documentation, including billing, individualized treatment plans, and insurance authorization forms promptly.
• Develop crisis plans, safety plans (as necessary), relapse prevention plans, and wellness plans to help maintain stable functioning.
• Create a comprehensive discharge plan for clients.
• Adhere to all relevant federal and state laws, regulatory requirements, and NDMH policies and procedures.
• Participate in case consultations and agency meetings to enhance collaborative care.
• Complete all mandatory training for professional development.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in the final year of a Master's in Social Work, Master's in Mental Health Counseling, or Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy.
• Demonstrated strong interest in clinical outpatient mental health services.
