GENERAL INFORMATION The Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control is seeking a well-qualified, highly motivated individual to fill a position in the Castaic Animal Care Center at the level of Intermediate Typist Clerk.

VACANCY INFORMATION This transfer opportunity is located at 31044 Charlie Canyon Road, Castaic, CA 91301.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Assist members of the public with information regarding adoptions, getting their animals returned to them, owner surrenders and trace microchips to confirm ownership.
• Schedule spay/neuter appointments for trust deposit.
• Register and renew animal licenses.
• Receive payments, issue change, make daily bank deposits, reconcile cash reports daily, scan and submit reports to Administration.
• Reconcile medical work orders and enter them in Chameleon system. Submit the medical work order reports to our Fiscal Department for appropriate payment.
• Make monthly corrections on incorrect impounds or journaled receipts.
• Purge yearly files and organize new files within the office.
• Assist volunteers when needed.
• Check Castaic Animal Care Center's email daily and respond to emails.
• Communicate with staff regarding new adoption promotions received from administration.
• Create follow up calls regarding Orders to Comply that are issued when a dog is released.
• Keep all forms updated and organized. Maintain adoption packets and printer toner cartridges stocked in the office.
• Report any broken office equipment for repair.

• Proficiency operating office equipment (photocopiers, scanners, and fax machines)
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task
• Organized and detail-oriented
