As an Interior Design Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading a small team through all stages of the project process, ensuring the successful execution of interior design projects. This Interior Design Project Manager role involves managing and mentoring junior staff and overseeing the creation of client presentations, mood boards, construction documents, and specification documents. Additionally, you will coordinate with product vendors, oversee construction administration tasks, and provide regular updates to the Design Director on the project's progress.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a small team of interior designers through all phases of the project process.
  • Foster a supportive environment and mentor junior staff to encourage professional growth and development.
  • Lead the team in the creation and revision of client presentation and mood boards to effectively communicate design concepts.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of Construction Documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Lead the team in the creation and compilation of Specification Documents detailing materials, fixtures, and furniture selections.
  • Guide the team in sourcing contract-grade materials, fixtures, and furniture to meet project requirements and budget constraints.
  • Manage coordination with product vendors to obtain pricing, lead time information, and ensure timely delivery of materials and furnishings.
  • Lead the team through Construction Administration tasks, including reviewing shop drawings, answering RFIs (Requests for Information), and attending site visits as necessary to ensure project quality and compliance with design intent.
  • Provide regular updates to the Design Director on project progress, milestones, and completion status.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field is preferred
  • 5 years of experience in interior design project management, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in design software AutoCAD, REVIT, and Bluebeam.
  • Experience with Construction Administration processes and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and building codes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality design solutions.
  • Knowledge of contract-grade materials, fixtures, and furnishings preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Personable, adaptable, and outgoing positive attitude
  • Self-motivated, hard-working and reliable
