About the Studio

Bridgid Coulter Design Studio explores a myriad of ventures which include but are not limited to: full-service interior design services & consulting; project management, custom furniture design, fabrication & sales; lifestyle product development; design & production of textiles, wallpaper and linen-wares; purchasing of design related products for clients; design-build-remodel-development project work; model home interior design & furniture package sales; home staging; atelier lifestyle design showroom; design book development in both print and digital form; showroom trade & community events; website, newsletter, blog & social media presence; photoshoots for press and portfolio; interior design show hosting & production for digital and/or broadcast (any team on-camera participation is optional); and we are leading the development of a creative workspaces for community to thrive.

PART 1: Design Assistant / Coordinator Job Duties Include

Seeking an EXTREMELY organized, patient and kind part time Interior Design Assistant / Coordinator who can support thePrincipals in various ventures. This position is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic, who thrives on implementing organizational processes, managing multiple projects, and working both independently and collaboratively – also,willing to take direction or lead staff in tasks when group efforts are needed.Has an appreciation for design and current design trends.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or completion of a design or business admin certificate program is ideal.
  • 2-5 years experience working for an executive in an arts, design &/ creative field.
  • Social media support is helpful. Tech savvy and must be mac / apple computer literate.
  • Agile and able to work on a production set for lifestyle shows and pitch in and assist principal there, as needed.
  • Creative & self-motivated

Responsibilities :

  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, deliveries, installations, processing orders, and maintaining project files
  • Assist with office supplies and organization, shipping/mailing, ordering office equipment as needed
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary materials for design projects
  • Ability to consolidate and organize all cloud-based document storage.
  • Organize and maintain the design library, the FF&E and samples inventory.
  • Administrative and project-related errands such as plotting drawings, sourcing and picking-up/returning samples
  • Sorting and sending mail as needed
  • Answering and routing phone calls, as well as followingup to meet project goals
  • Managing social media as needed
  • Attend design meetings and take meeting notes
  • Help Principal prepare for meetings by gathering samples, tear sheets or any other materials that may be needed for site and client meetings - Assist with sourcing items for projects
  • Assist with floorplans, drafting and space-planning, a plus

Part 2: Design Assistant / Coordinator Job Duties Include

Looking for an organized, creative and self-motivated Interior Design Assistant / Coordinator to manage production on multiple projects to meet deadlines accurately. A selected candidate will be expected to contribute creatively and technically to projects in all phases of development, from conceptualization to construction documents.Has a strong desire to work independently and excel in a micro-boutique, hospitality-style, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate and manage project communications, contracts, budgets and schedules
  • Review shop drawings, project submittals, document specifications etc. for document compliance;
  • Liaise and coordinate directly with principal, clients, consultants, vendors and contractors related to daily business operations and custom furniture and/or textile designs in process.
  • Troubleshooting production issues may require visiting city/clients/vendors as necessary.support day to day operations on a schedule that includes both remote and in person reporting;
  • Ability to work and collaborate r with a team that may include a cadre of outside consultants, specialists and vendors to provide additional support with design, detailing, coordination, communication, project management, accounting and office support for multiple client & development projects and the overall presentation of the home office/showroom location.

Skills & Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in residential design, 3 years in Project Coordination or Management.
  • Must have Bachelor or Masters degree equivalent or accredited certificate program in Interior Design, Design Management or Architecture or similar field that is translatable.
  • Complex problem solving and creative solution skills.
  • EXCELLENT graphic, written and verbal communication skills and exceptional graphic presentation skills for assembling digital mood boards and presentations
  • Extremely proficient in software for communication (Pages, Numbers, Keynote) Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat DC, Illustrator and InDesign. All projects are managed by the Studio Designer project & accounting software, Studio Designer.
  • Proficiency in 2D tools like Basic AutoCAD or ArchiCAD are required, while proficiency in 3D modeling like Sketchup or Revit skills are very helpful, but not required.
  • Should possess a proactive approach with excellent follow-up.
  • Ability to both work independently and/or manage with a collaborative leadership style which puts value on relationships, both internal and external as well as ensures high-quality design.
  • Ability to develop and complete projects without continued direct supervision.
  • Advanced knowledge of furniture, fixture and equipment (FF&E), architectural/interior finishes, lighting, art signage, color and materials to carry out design intent.
  • Proven ability to prioritize in order to meet deadlines and provide high quality service to clients.
  • Experience in all phases of design and construction - a plus, not essential - will train.
  • Strong Organizational skills essential, with all folders stored in Google Workplace Suites.
  • Demonstrates ability to coordinate construction and design at all scales: from models, to furniture, to built work.
  • Ability to work well with shifting project deliverables, juggle and prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly, often against tight deadlines.
  • Ability to interact with principal designer, internal team, external client organizations and vendors.
  • Room to grow into a full-time role.

Benefits & Compensation

Salary commensurate with experience (Sample Ranges: Assistants at $25/hour; Coordinators from $25/hour-$34/hour; Managers from $35/hour +)
