Position Title: Interim Assistant Provost

This position is open to internal candidates only at Manhattan University. Posting will close Monday, August 18, 2025.

Salary Range: $159,500-$179,500

This is a 12-month administrative position which does not carry or confer faculty rank or tenure.

Position Summary:

The Assistant Provost is directly responsible for managing the Center for Graduate School & Fellowship Advisement (pre-health, pre-law, fellowship and graduate school advising), the Collegiate Science Technology Entrance Program and opportunity programs, and the Veterans Resource Center, and collaborating with Deans, the Office of Mission, and Student Life on the First-Year Experience program.

The Assistant Provost will also serve as the Title V Program Manager, and will be responsible for the implementation, execution, and monitoring of Manhattan University 's Title V Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) grant. The position will be charged with ensuring that Title V grant activities at Manhattan University are conducted in a manner that is compliant with US Department of Education regulations and University policies.

Reporting to the Provost, the Assistant Provost collaborates with deans, department chairs, faculty, and administrative units to further the strategic initiatives of student success.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the Center for Advising and Academic Success, which includes Centralized Academic Advising, the Center for Academic Success (CAS), and the Specialized Resource Center (SRC) in an intentional way that supports student success Manage of the Director of Centralized Advising.
  • Manage the Director of Centralized Advising and Student Advising Systems.
  • Work across campus to develop and disseminate best-practices in student advising to faculty and administrators.
  • Monitor data and KPIs and application findings as they relate to advising and retention.
  • Implement the strategic vision of the Title V grant with oversight of compliance.
  • Engage with regional groups to ensure Manhattan University 's HSI program is represented in wider communities.
  • Work with the internal Project Evaluation Team, External Evaluator, and Director of Institutional Research to support development, implementation, and assessment of Title V activities.
  • Ensure representation at admissions and orientation events and oversee first year experience programming.
  • Manage the Director of CSTEP, a grant-funded program for underrepresented minorities and underprivileged students pursuing degrees in the licensed professions to increase retention and academic success.
  • Manage the teach-out of HEOP, a grant-funded opportunity program for underrepresented and underprepared student populations.
  • Manage the Director of Veterans Success/Veterans at Ease.
  • Coordinate First Year Experience monthly meetings including co-chairing committee, coordinating agenda, and facilitating discussion on issues.
  • Work with VP of Mission to facilitate participation across academic affairs in both internal and external formation programs.
  • Lead new initiatives and serve on various committees as needed.
  • Serve as the representative of the Provost and/or Associate Provost in their absence.
  • Other special projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in an area related to higher education
  • At least five years of progressive leadership experience in student success
