Opportunity: Interim Accounting Manager

As an Interim Accounting Manager you'll lead our client's accounting operations, including month-end close, audits, and financial reporting. This role will oversee key accounting processes and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and adherence to U.S. GAAP. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls and U.S. GAAP.
- Lead and manage accounting activities related to commissions, accounts receivable/payable, purchasing, leases, and investments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
- Review work prepared by accounting staff and seniors to ensure reconciliations and financial reports are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Serve as the primary liaison during year-end audits, ensuring all deliverables and supporting documentation are prepared and submitted timely.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive implementation of best practices across the accounting function.
- Maintain technical knowledge of evolving accounting standards and reporting requirements.
- Apply a solution-oriented approach to problem-solving and risk assessment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proven experience managing full-cycle monthly and year-end close processes.
- Experience preparing for and supporting external audits.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop accounting teams, delegate tasks effectively, and mentor junior staff.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
- Proficiency in accounting and business systems similar to: NetSuite, Workday, and Concur
