Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the development and enhancement of HDR's intercity and high-speed rail practices across the company.
- Coordinate with practice team members to improve services in planning, engineering, systems, and related disciplines.
- Develop innovative transportation solutions, leveraging emerging trends like automation and asset management.
- Manage client relationships and identify new market opportunities.
- Attract and retain industry talent, oversee project delivery, and maintain quality standards.
- Support staff development, lead major projects, and represent HDR at professional organizations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven leadership in interdisciplinary rail projects, with a strong record in policy, technical, and legal challenges.
- Bachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering, or related field.
- At least 15 years of relevant experience in intercity and high-speed rail planning.
- Knowledge of federal and state rail programs, including grants.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- National recognition in transportation planning or engineering, with international experience.
- Master's degree preferred; professional registrations like PE or PMP are a plus.
