Wilson Elser's Intellectual Property and Technology Team is looking for an Associate Attorney. This role is ideal for an attorney with a strong litigation background eager to join a dynamic, national team focused on intellectual property and technology law, including litigation, privacy, AI, data governance, internet law, advertising law, and related fields. The position is available at our East Meadow or White Plains, NY offices, with potential for other locations within Wilson Elser's network.

• Manage litigation caseloads and advise clients on IP, data privacy, technology, and AI governance/compliance issues.
• Collaborate with attorneys and partners on legal projects.
• Prosecute and defend lawsuits involving copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, trade libel, data privacy, and related rights.
• Advise clients on data privacy compliance, AI governance, and data governance, including drafting privacy notices, policies, procedures, risk assessments, and providing internal training.
• Assist with transactional matters such as purchase/sale agreements, collaboration agreements, licensing, and software development agreements.
• Maintain communication with clients and provide regular updates.

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in New York State and at least one federal court in New York.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in intellectual property litigation.
• Experience with federal and state court litigation, including motion practice and depositions.
• Interest or experience in privacy, AI, and data governance law is strongly preferred.
• Experience in advertising, art, fashion, internet law, or transactional matters is a plus.
• Demonstrated thought leadership in IP is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, writing, client service, and communication skills.
• Legal project management experience is helpful.

Compensation is influenced by experience, education, location, and other factors. The salary range is $155,000 to $200,000 USD, with eligibility for bonuses and benefits including 401(k), health insurance, and paid time off.
