Job DescriptionThe Integration Architect plays a crucial role in healthcare IT, focusing on the design, implementation, and maintenance of integration solutions using system platforms. Data Integration Architects play a pivotal role in designing and managing cohesive data ecosystems. This position requires a deep understanding of healthcare workflows and IT systems and must possess a strong ability to manage projects and collaborate with various teams.
Job DescriptionThe Integration Architect plays a crucial role in healthcare IT, focusing on the design, implementation, and maintenance of integration solutions using system platforms. Data Integration Architects play a pivotal role in designing and managing cohesive data ecosystems. This position requires a deep understanding of healthcare workflows and IT systems and must possess a strong ability to manage projects and collaborate with various teams.ResponsibilitiesDesign and Implementation: Develop and implement integration solutions using system platforms, ensuring that they meet the requirements of the healthcare facility. This involves understanding the specific workflows and data needs of different departments within the healthcare organization. Utilize frameworks, methodologies, and programming languages to create efficient data architectures.Technical Expertise: Knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle and SQL, along with cloud platforms. Highly skilled using ETL tools, (Extract, Transform, Load).System Analysis and Configuration: Analyze existing systems and workflows to identify areas for improvement or integration. Configure core systems to work seamlessly with other healthcare IT systems (like Electronic Health Records, Laboratory Information Systems, etc.).Project Management: Oversee integration projects from conception to completion. This includes planning, executing, monitoring, and closing projects. Coordinate with various teams, both technical and non-technical, to ensure project success.Customization and Optimization: Tailor Cerner solutions to meet the unique needs of the healthcare organization. This may involve customizing software interfaces or optimizing system performance.Data Management and Security: Ensure that all integrated systems comply with data management and security regulations, such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) in the United States. This involves securing patient data and ensuring privacy.Troubleshooting and Support: Provide ongoing support for Cerner systems, including troubleshooting and resolving any integration-related issues. This requires staying updated with the latest Cerner updates and technologies.Training and Documentation: Train end-users on the new systems and create documentation for future reference. This includes developing training materials and conducting training sessions.Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with IT staff, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure that the integration meets clinical and operational needs. Communicate effectively across various levels of the organization to facilitate smooth integration. Simultaneously collaborate with IT teams, data engineers, and data scientists to ensure the technical feasibility of solutions.Staying Informed: Keep up to date with the latest developments in healthcare technology and integration methodologies. This includes attending relevant conferences, workshops, and training sessions.Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure that all integration solutions meet quality standards and comply with relevant regulations and laws. This might involve conducting regular audits and reviews. Oversee the entire lifecycle of data guaranteeing the integrity and consistency of the information.Integration: supports internal and external client project teams in understanding, designing, and validating integration points across solutions.These duties require a strong understanding of healthcare workflows and information technology, and excellent project management and communication skills.Other FunctionsParticipates in On-Call rotationPerforms other duties as assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThe Cerner Integration Architect manages the body of work for the Core Team which includes the Event Set Hierarchy, Cerner Rules and Alerts, and Cerner SecurityQualificationsBachelor's degree from four-year College or universitysix (6) years relevant IT experienceORAssociate Degree and eight (8) years or more of relevant IT experienceORTen (10) relevant IT experienceANDMaintain applicable certificationProven success in support of EHR (Electronic Health Records) and data architectures
