About The Role

Under the supervision of the Support Services Manager, the Intake Specialist partners with Kidango Center Directors, Regional Directors, Teachers, Early Head Start/Head Start Family Advocates, Family Eligibility & Need Specialists and others to conduct the intake, assessment, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation to meet the child, family and classroom needs for mental health and inclusion support services.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Assists clients with the intake process for support services.
  • Ensures completion of all required documentation in alignment with program guidelines.
  • Receives, screens, and processes referrals; provides intake coordination and administrative support.
  • Ensures smooth operations by delivering timely and accurate clerical support and coordinating client intake processes.
  • Collects, verifies, and inputs client information into the database.
  • Builds positive relationships with center staff and support team staff.
  • Interacts with a diverse group of clients and present yourself in a professional manner as a representative of Kidango.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Collaborates with program staff to ensure timely follow-up on client needs, referrals, and service coordination.
  • Communicates with referral sources professionally.
  • Maintains confidentiality of children, families and staff information.
  • Recognizes potential issues in areas of responsibility and resolves proactively.
  • Completes special projects as assigned within designated time frames.
  • Attends meetings and training as assigned or required.
  • Works as a member of the agency team by promoting the mission, vision and values of the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AA required or 2 year's equivalent experience.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills. Detail oriented.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be self-directed and have the ability to work autonomously.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Previous experience with computerized data bases; web based preferred.
  • Able to travel efficiently throughout the assigned area.
  • Able to work within the organization's core work hours and schedule as assigned by the manager.
  • Required possession of a valid California Driver's License.
  • Clear driving record and use of insured personal vehicle throughout course of employment.

Compensation $80,808 - $80,808 USD

Additional Requirements
  • Must pass a health screening and TB test
  • Must pass background fingerprint clearance
  • Valid Driver License
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • The ability to lift up to 30lbs may be needed during some job duties
