Quickly moving into other industries, we are a fast-paced and agile company looking for a best-in-class Instrumentation Technician willing to roll up their sleeves and exude a passion for the field!What you will do...Provides technical expertise to plant personnel during equipment problems, repair, troubleshooting and during root cause investigationsSets up, calibrates, tests, measures and repairs all types of electrical controls, instruments, and electronic componentsCollects equipment operation history and data to facilitate reliability improvementsTroubleshoots and repairs malfunctions and helps document failure analysisPerforms preventative maintenance of equipment and instrument calibrationsPlans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipmentIs a proactive member of the team. Looks for, repairs, process improvements, and maintains a preventative attitudeMonitors controls and electrical equipment to ensure effective and efficient serviceEnsures preventative maintenance procedures are carried out in accordance with SOP, SSOP, and in a timely mannerSets up and operate tools used to diagnose and repair equipmentDismantles functional systems and tests componentsStarts system, observes operation, read, and calibrate gauges and instruments, and adjusts mechanisms such as valves, controls, pumps to control level of fluid, pressure, and temperature in plant systemsKeeps maintenance shop and assigned areas neat, clean, and organizedConfigures Hart smart devices using a HART communicatorWorks well with the Maintenance department to help solidify electrical repairs and assist with projectsDemonstrates sound work ethicSupports and encourages greater employee teamworkKnows, understands, and follows OSHA and Safety RegulationsFollows L.O.T.O policiesCommunicates safety issues to managers and Safety departmentWhat you will need to succeed...Minimum 1 year of experience in the fieldAssociate's degree in Instrumentation or CertificationAbility to test, calibrate, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic devices and equipment.Proficient at Single and Three Phase motors and motor control systems.Ability to install and troubleshoot PLC's, AC and DC Drives.Skilled in Installing electrical gear, equipment, and devices.Read blueprints, schematics, and manuals to understand installation procedures.Physical demands...The physical demands described within are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Must be able to lift to 60 pounds independently; lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levelsMust be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feetRequires standing for extended period with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odorsWhat you'll love about us...MKD employees are the company's greatest assets. Please note that the compensation range reflects the base pay only and does not include benefits, or bonuses this role may be eligible to receive. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by bona fide factors such as geographic work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
