A typical day includes performing preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting instrumentation, calibrating equipment, and ensuring strict adherence to safety and documentation standards. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams and be part of ongoing projects that support critical manufacturing operations, including air handling systems, cold rooms, and water systems. You'll be expected to bring a hands-on approach to problem-solving while ensuring operational excellence in a regulated, high-impact environment.Veterans with military experience in electrical systems, avionics, fire control, nuclear propulsion, or other technical maintenance roles will find this role an excellent fit. Skills like troubleshooting electrical/pneumatic controls, reading schematics, performing calibrations, and adhering to strict procedural guidelines closely mirror military responsibilities. If you've worked with multimeters, PLCs, control panels, or electrical diagnostics, you already have a strong foundation for success in this position. Some examples of ideal military backgrounds that may fit this role are:U.S. Army 94F (Computer Detection Systems Repairer), 94E (Radio and Communications Security Repairer), and 91C (Utilities Equipment Repairer)U.S. Navy Electrician's Mate (EM), Electronics Technician (ET), or Interior Communications Electrician (IC), including Nuclear specialties.U.S. Air Force 2A6X1 (Aerospace Propulsion), 2A7X2 (Nondestructive Inspection), or 3E4X1 (Water and Fuel Systems Maintenance)U.S. Marine Corps 1142 (Engineer Equipment Electrical Systems Technician) or 6499 (Aviation Maintenance Data Specialist). These specialties emphasize troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, calibration, and working within highly regulated environments-directly reflecting the daily tasks and responsibilities of this role. Your experience working with multimeters, control systems, schematics, and safety protocols, such as NFPA 70E, will help you thrive in a civilian career with the client.
