Instrumentation Engineer, PLC ProgrammingDevelop custom PLC programs from scratch, primarily using Siemens S7 systems to meet specific project requirements. Design and program Human-Machine Interface (HMI) applications, ensuring intuitive and efficient operator interfaces. Collaborate on electrical design processes, creating electrical schematics and layouts for custom automation projects. Work closely with clients to understand project requirements and develop tailored automation solutions, integrating custom hardware and software components. Integrate third party sensors with the PLC system, program and test functionality and accuracy of new sensors. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PLC operations and performance. Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate Vision inspection systems into production lines. Utilize tools such as an Ohmmeter for testing electrical components. Document all programming changes, system updates, and maintenance activities. QualificationsBachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Technology, Electronics Technology, Control Systems Technology, or Process Control is required. Proficiency in programming languages related to PLCs is required. Experience in Siemens S7 series PLC is a plus. Experience with SIMATIC STEP 7 and TIA Portal. Knowledge of SCADA systems and RTUs, their engineering and development. Strong programming background and computer algorithm knowledge is required. Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation (E & I) principles. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
