Job Description: Job Description for Instrumentation Calibration TechnicianNY CREATES is seeking applicants for an Instrumentation Calibration TechnicianJob responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and perform required calibration maintenance on all facility related instruments including but not limited to the operation, maintenance, testing and repair of the sites UPW/WWT and HVAC systems.
  • The goal is to meet the environmental needs of our tenants and to maintain the required up time for the sites Cleanrooms to remain compliant for our ISO 9000 certification.
  • Participation in the development of equipment start-up, shut-down, and preventative maintenance tasks and procedures (including but not limited to SOP's, LOTO, JHA, etc.).
  • Promote and build a team environment, provide customer satisfaction and support.
  • Work within the operation team.
  • A successful candidate must conduct work in an independent manner.
Responsibilities for Instrumentation Calibration Technician:
  • Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, calibrates, and tests a wide variety of industrial instrumentation that record, indicate, control, and regulate level, flow, pressure, temperature, position for water analysis.
  • Conducts periodic preventative maintenance and inspections of all metering control instruments, diagnoses existing or potential trouble; cleans, lubricates, calibrates, and adjusts as conditions indicate.
  • Lays out, installs, and placing into service new metering, controlling, and recording devices, calibrating as required; may extend or connect related electrical circuits.
  • Reads and interprets wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and specifications related to installations or major repair work.
  • Understands analog input/output signals, how to read the values in a PLC and scale them so that they read the same in SCADA. Must be able to convert a device reading to the control value that we are looking for such as converting pressure from a pressure sensor to tank level percentage.
  • Prepares and maintains a variety of records; makes verbal and written reports of work performed.
  • May make estimates of labor, materials, and supplies as needed to complete specific assignments.
  • Performs repair and testing work requiring a high-level of knowledge, skills, and abilities, and serves as a technical resource to others.
  • Reviews engineering designs and modifications to control systems and recommends both technical and operational improvements.
  • May direct, coach, or train less experienced Instrument & Controls Technicians and others on specific projects or procedures of the work.
Requirements: Minimum Requirements for Instrumentation Calibration Technician
  • A technical trade degree from with a minimum of 2 years of related instrumentation work experience and 2 years' experience in a mechanical facility operations environment
OR
  • 5 years of instrumentation calibration work experience in a Fab/Industrial facility operations environment.
  • Must possess good interpersonal and communications skills, the ability to write clearly and concisely, and proficient use of Microsoft Office, computer maintenance management programs, and other applicable computer programs.
  • Required to wear cleanroom protective equipment and various personal protective equipment (PPE) related to work activities.
  • Provide leadership, oversight and direction to assure goals, programs, activities, and personnel practices are consistent with and contribute to the Institution's goals and strategies. Design and implement operating strategies, plans and procedures to assure smooth functioning of NY CREATES FOG UPW/WWT preventative maintenances programs.
  • This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background check; this position may require annual background checks.

Pay Rate: 75,000-95,000*Posted Rate is dependent on experience and education.Location: 257 Fuller Road, Albany, NY 12203NOTE: Some positions require access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, or restricted programs where U.S. Government authorization may be required.
