Location: Columbus OH 43219
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, all in person
Pay Rate: 25-35/hr
Must Haves:
- Ability to build learning slides and storyline content effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Plusses:
- Experience with Jira.
- Certification with agile experience, including structuring and formatting.
Day to Day:
- Develop and maintain training materials.
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure training content meets organizational standards.
- Support the production of multimedia training content.
- Engage with trainees and colleagues to foster a positive learning environment.
The Instructional Designer & Courseware Developer plays an important role in developing instructional content for Flight Crews, Maintenance, and Dispatch personnel. This position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining training materials. The ideal candidate brings expertise in adult learning principles, instructional design technologies, and a collaborative approach to supporting operational excellence across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instructional Design: Design and develop engaging, performance-based courseware across instructor-led, virtual, and eLearning formats using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Content Maintenance: Edit and update existing training presentations and materials to reflect current procedures and best practices.
- Multimedia Production: Assist in producing scenario-based training videos, including camera setup, lighting, and video editing.
- Collaboration & Support: Work closely with SMEs, instructors, and cross-functional teams to support training initiatives and department projects.
- Relationship Building: Foster a positive learning environment through courteous, professional interactions with trainees and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in instructional design, training delivery, or aviation operations.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Proficiency in eLearning tools, multimedia production, and presentation software.
- Experience supporting regulatory training in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with aviation training systems, regulatory frameworks, and operational contexts (Flight, Maintenance, Dispatch).
