Position Summary: Ajax/CECO/Erie Press is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Inspector to join our Quality Assurance team. The Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that incoming materials, work-in-process, and finished products meet all specified requirements. This role involves detailed inspection and documentation to create clear, accurate records that support the repair and manufacturing process. Job Duties: Dimensional and Visual Inspection: - Document the dimensional and visual conditions of incoming materials for repair. - Record applicable dimensions of repaired products, creating electronic files for historical reference. - Develop forms and sketches as needed to ensure clear documentation of inspection findings, adhering to quality procedures. Collaboration and Documentation: - Work closely with repair parts and rebuild leaders to create understandable part condition records before and after repair. - Collaborate with engineering to address deviations between products and drawings. - Help reduce total repair process time through effective documentation and record-keeping. Inspection Process: - Perform inspection of incoming materials, work-in-process, and finished components/products. - Utilize tools such as micrometers, verniers, hardness testers, squares, gage blocks, indicators, levels, optic jigs, fixtures, and profilometers. - Operate digital readout equipment and other instruments as required. Technical Expertise: - Work from complex drawings, specifications, handbooks, and verbal/written instructions. - Make gauging set-ups and determine defects or deviations. - Handle parts with various types of equipment, such as overhead cranes, jib cranes, hoists, and forklifts. - Work in assembly as needed What you need to be successful: - High school diploma or equivalent - 5+ years of experience in inspection/quality systems Preferred Qualifications: - Mechanical Inspection Certification - Machining background - FARO Arm Experience *Other duties as assigned. * Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
