INSPECTOR (Code Enforcement / Investigation) - City Of Houston Texas : Job Details

Ensures that construction meets local and national building codes, ordinances and technical specifications through various duties that include, but are not limited to the following: Inspects mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or structural systems to ensure they comply with building codes and local ordinances. Provides written feedback related to the findings. Performs record keeping activities, maintains daily logs, records/maintains photographs taken during inspections and issues violation notices and stop-work orders under supervision of senior technical staff. Monitors construction sites periodically to ensure overall compliance with codes. Meets with public, contractors, technical professionals, and businesses to respond to inquiries and technical problems. Researches and evaluates plans, specifications, and drawings.
