Access to BRG Fit! wellness programs.Opportunities to impact lives every single shift.What You Will Do:As a Behavioral Counselor, you'll provide critical psychosocial assessments, interventions, and group therapy sessions that guide patients through the continuum of care. You'll be responsible for identifying risks, supporting discharge planning, and contributing to treatment plans - all while upholding the highest standards in patient safety, dignity, and care.Essential Job Functions:Provides assessment and subsequent interventions to patients and their families.Develops accurate, comprehensive psychosocial assessments and examines bio-psychosocial and environmental factors within mandated time frames.Communicates assessment findings with the healthcare team, patient, and significant others to ensure information is current.Assesses for suspected or actual abuse/neglect and reports in accordance with policies.Identifies suicidal and/or homicidal risks and applies appropriate interventions.Facilitates group, individual, and family sessions as ordered by the psychiatrist.Continuously monitors patient and family issues, documents updates, and revises treatment plans as necessary.Participates in interdisciplinary care planning.Encourages shared decision-making and educates patients/families to support treatment participation.Monitors medical necessity and length of stay documentation.Collaborates with team members to improve patient outcomes.Facilitates the movement of patients through the continuum of care by the discharge planning process.Initiates and maintains discharge plans per department policies.Coordinates with community resources and referral agencies.Conducts group, family, and individual sessions according to program schedule or as needed.Performs all other duties as assigned.What Sets BRG Apart:We don't just provide care - we build trust, restore dignity, and foster progress. RequirementsMaster's Degree in Counseling or Psychologytwelve to 24 months of recent and relevant experienceCurrent LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LAC, LMFT licensure, or PLPC, and current CPR certificationExcellent verbal communication with tact and sensitivityStrong clinical judgment in crisis situations (e.g., suicidal/homicidal risk, abuse)Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team settingExperience facilitating individual, group, and family therapyOrganized, compassionate, and proactive inpatient care planning
