Candidate Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Innovation Management, Technology Strategy, or related discipline
- Minimum 6 years of experience designing innovation frameworks or managing pilot programs
- Strong background in evaluating emerging technologies, solution design, and risk assessment
- Familiarity with education-sector innovations or public sector transformation is a plus
- Experience defining outcome metrics and building structured evaluation models
- Excellent communication, planning, and presentation skills
Job Description
- The Innovation Strategist will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and supporting pilot initiatives that introduce new technologies or delivery models into DOE's IT environment.
- This role ensures innovation efforts are structured, measurable, and aligned with DOE's educational goals and operational readiness.
Responsibilities include:
- Define and manage an innovation roadmap with prioritization criteria
- Evaluate emerging technologies and propose pilot initiatives
- Design innovation scoring and evaluation models for governance integration
- Collaborate with IT Strategy Advisors and Project Teams to implement and track pilots
- Deliver findings, outcome metrics, and recommendations to DOE leadership
