Overview

Infrastructure Territory Manager - Minnesota and North Dakota

Mueller Water Products is seeking an exempt, territory-based sales professional to manage the Minnesota and North Dakota territory, including the entire states. The role reports to the Infrastructure Regional Sales Manager and focuses on growth with established distributors and end users in the water distribution industry.

Responsibilities
  • Call on end product users to promote new and existing product lines and develop a favorable specification position.
  • Provide complete service to the established distributor network including quotations, product training, technical and literary support, product complaints, inventory maintenance, and delivery issue resolution.
  • Perform product training for end users and distributors to promote advantages of Mueller products and strengthen specification position.
  • Develop cooperative relationships with key distributors and end user personnel to enhance product demand.
  • Establish sales goals and specification objectives to meet the company sales budget.
  • Identify significant bid opportunities and provide complete project information, including price strategy.
  • Provide after-sale service support, including warranty and claims management.
  • Actively participate in trade organizations to promote Mueller products.
  • Continuously update end users database for the territory.
  • Provide Regional Sales office with monthly sales forecast and market overview.
Qualifications
  • Required: A minimum of two (2) years outside sales experience in the water distribution industry or related field (construction, piping, industrial sales, etc.).
  • Aptitude and comfort with selling technology-based solutions and platforms.
  • Experience with CRM software and other technology-based productivity tools.
  • Valid driver's license with no major violations.
  • Ability to routinely travel 75% of the work schedule (approximately 3-4 days/week of travel with one office day).
  • Ability to cover a large geographical sales territory.
  • Intermediate computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Public speaking ability and experience presenting to large groups (30+).
  • Ability to lift in excess of 40 lbs to maneuver products during demonstrations.
  • Desired: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or communications-related field.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
Work Environment & Hours

Primary work hours are Monday through Friday with hours varying based on customer needs. Evening customer meetings may be required during travel. This is a salaried exempt position and does not qualify for overtime pay.
