Black & Veatch is experiencing an increased demand from clients for integrated funding solutions. As a key member of our Funding & Financing team, you will play a crucial role in supporting infrastructure project funding for water/wastewater, energy, resiliency, etc. – ensuring our municipal and commercial clients have access to the funding they need to deliver projects as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.This position will be on a hybrid work schedule, 3 days in office and 2 days remote, out of one of our Florida regional offices listed on the job posting.The TeamBlack & Veatch's Funding & Financing Team helps clients navigate the changing funding landscape, assists with grant applications, and supports grant compliance. The team works with Black & Veatch's clients to develop and implement a funding strategy, which enables projects to be expanded or accelerated through the support of state and federal funding.Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Funding Team to assess, plan, secure, and manage funding for critical infrastructure initiatives, with a particular emphasis on projects and clients in California and/or Florida.
  • Evaluate and analyze various funding sources, including federal, state, and local programs, to develop tailored funding strategies.
  • Lead the preparation and submittal of grant and loan applications.
  • Provide strategic guidance to clients on aligning project objectives with funding program priorities, with a particular emphasis on projects and clients in California and/or Florida.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including state agencies, regulators, and funding administrators in California and/or Florida.
  • Stay updated on evolving regulations and funding opportunities at the state and federal levels, anticipating changes and adapting strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to integrate alternative funding solutions into project proposals and service offerings.

  • Bachelor degree in engineering or professional degree in Sciences in area of expertise preferred with specialized training, or experience that uniquely qualifies the individual to perform the job responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • A minimum total of 3 years of related work experience is typically necessary to move into this level. Graduate work may count as related work experience if directly applicable to job function.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
  • Typical office environment with a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office and 2 days remote)

  • Sitting/standing/computer usage for extended periods of time
  • Limited travel as needed
