Job Description: Infrared Focal Plane Array Test Engineer

This position is based in Goleta, California, near the University of California, Santa Barbara. It is part of the Santa Barbara Focalplane program within the Missiles and Fire Control business unit at Lockheed Martin.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and test infrared focal plane arrays: Utilize computer frame grabbers, test electronics, and generate test plans.
  • Perform data analysis: Analyze test data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Troubleshoot electronic test boards and contribute to electronic design: Resolve issues and improve electronic systems.
  • Collaborate with team members: Coordinate test and system activities.
  • Requirements:

    • Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, or related field.
    • Lab experience.
    • Experience with scripting software languages.
    • US Citizenship: Required for security clearance.
    • Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.

    Lockheed Martin offers a comprehensive benefits package, including relocation assistance. The work schedule is 4×10-hour days, with 3 days off per week.

    The annual salary range varies by location:

    • California, New York (excluding major metro areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington, D.C.: $55,300 – $106,000
    • Major metro areas in California and New York: $63,600 – $119,800
