Duties & Responsibilities:
Work with faculty and staff in the planning, preparation, and use of learning spaces technologies. Responsible for the technical and operational oversight of learning spaces to meet the technological and educational demands of the university. Install, configure, and upgrade networked workstations and peripherals using established procedures. Maintain and support classroom technologies. Develop and maintain network-related configurations for workstations and servers. Update and monitor configurations to provide optimal quality to end users. Configure, update, and implement operating system images over the network, using SCCM and other imaging software on Mac and Windows platforms. Explore and test innovative approaches to teaching and learning through the use of educational technologies. Research, evaluate, and assist in the selection, sourcing, and purchasing of software, hardware, and equipment. Maintain software inventories. Participate in the overall coordination of the labs and classrooms as a member of an integrated and mutually supportive team. Provide second-level technical expertise to the UIS Campus Community to resolve more complex network, operating system, and application questions and problems. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Any one or any combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the following categories: A. College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent: -30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months) -Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months) -90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months) -Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months) B. Work experience in IT-related functions, such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field. 3. Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position may be required.
