Job Description :

Our, San Francisco based, client is seeking a highly experienced Senior IT Systems Engineer to join our growing team. This role will be instrumental in automating and optimizing IT backend systems, managing applications, and ensuring seamless user management. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Google Workspace, identity management, security, and Mac fleet administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • IT Systems Management & Automation:
  • Design, implement, and maintain automation solutions to streamline user lifecycle management, access provisioning, and system configurations.
  • Perform ongoing cleanup of users, groups, and permissions to optimize system efficiency and security.
  • Oversee IT backend infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Identity & Access Management:
  • Manage identity solutions using Okta (or equivalent IAM tools) to ensure secure authentication and authorization.
  • Develop policies and processes for user access control, SSO, and role-based permissions.
  • Collaboration & Productivity Tools:
  • Administer and configure Google Workspace, optimizing its use across the organization.
  • Support and manage enterprise collaboration tools like Slack, ensuring integration with other systems.
  • Device & Endpoint Management:
  • Oversee Mac fleet management using Jamf (or similar tools) to ensure compliance, security, and efficiency.
  • Implement policies for software updates, patching, and endpoint security.
  • Security & Compliance:
  • Strengthen security protocols across IT systems, including endpoint security, access controls, and encryption.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company security policies.
  • Collaborate with the security team to enforce best practices and mitigate risks.
  • Support & Collaboration:
  • Work closely with IT leadership and cross-functional teams to support ongoing IT initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT systems engineering, infrastructure, or a related field.
  • Expertise in Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, and Jamf (or equivalent tools).
  • Strong experience in IT automation, scripting, and process optimization.
  • Solid understanding of identity and access management (IAM), including SSO and multi-factor authentication.
  • Experience with Mac fleet management and enterprise endpoint security best practices.
  • Familiarity with IT security principles, including risk assessment and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex IT issues.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
