This is how we live the Maya Way, even when no one is watching.Position OverviewThe Information & Technology Specialist will join a team of IT Professionals to support the Director of Information Technology in maintaining and supporting a technology model for all our campuses located in Washington, DC and Laurel, MD. The IT Specialist must have proven technical skills and excellent HelpDesk support experience to appropriately support our students, staff, the Foundation team, and our partners in an on-campus setting. This position reports to the Director of Technology of See Forever Foundation. The primary tour of duty for this role is inside of an adult correctional facility.RequirementsResponsibilitiesSpecific Responsibilities Will Include But Not Be Limited To
- Provides technology support to faculty, staff, and students
- Provide coverage/support/assistance to any campus or site when needed (required)
- Provide deskside and remote technical support
- Logs and tracks all calls, HelpDesk system and maintains records and related problem documentation
- Review, solve and close IT support tickets in timely manner
- Assist in the development and implementation of technology implementation plans for all MAS/SFF campuses
- Provide up-to-date information to school leaders and SFF senior leadership on trends in monitoring student activity usage on MAS/SFF issued devices
- Provide primary support in the monitoring of student devices while in use
- Follow up with end users to ensure issues are resolved and the end users are satisfied
- Prepare classrooms for the beginning of school, including phone, Interactive board, wiring, desktop, and cart placement
- Support On-Prem infrastructure and Cloud based technology
- Chromebooks & cart management (Syncing, assignment, inventory, and repair)
- Deploy, label, and perform maintenance on phones, computers, and printers.
- Manage software updates, patches, and administration for solutions such as Anti-Virus, MS Office, Mac OS, iOS, Google Chrome and Window Operating Systems.
- Report operational metrics and progress to direct supervisors on a regular basis
- Keep direct supervisors up to date on any issues or concerns
- Working with external contractors on specific tasks and/or projects related to technology
- Coordinate support and logistics for large technology-reliant events, including Assessment testing, community events, large group meetings
- Responsible for assigned projects and collaborate with team members on shared projects
- Reinforce technology standards for all MAS/SFF campuses
- Working collaboratively with school leaders, network support staff, teachers, and others (registrar, office assistant) to assist each campus in technology needs (IP Phones, fax machines, projectors, Promethean, VR sets, scanners, etc.)
- Support in developing and updating a usable and constantly changing IT knowledge base system
- Available for other special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field. (required)
- CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certifications. (required)
- Minimum of 3 to 4 years' experience in an information system or technology department. (required)
- Experience in Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, Azure Cloud, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, and Windows Server
- Experience with IT HelpDesk systems, logging, tracking documents, and maintain records of user issues.
- Understanding and experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, Print Management.
- Windows Laptop support, maintenance, and repairs
- Experience working in a school or in an educational setting
- Computer hardware and school technology hardware maintenance experience
- Experience with VOIP phone systems
- Technical writing skills
- Experience with LAN, WAP Controller, and Web security
- Laptop support, repair, management, and asset control
- Network efficiency monitoring
- Knowledge of other school technology (Valcom clocks/bells/PA, security cameras, A/V equipment, etc.)
