The City of Davenport is seeking a dynamic and experienced Information Technology (IT) Director to provide innovative and customer-focused solutions to municipal operations. As a key member of the city's leadership team, the IT Director will oversee all aspects of information technology, including enterprise systems, cybersecurity, network operations, data management, and innovation initiatives. We are looking for a visionary leader with strong technical expertise, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to public service.

Salary starts at $140,000 DOQ. The City offers a benefits package with unique and innovative offerings.

Under administrative direction, the IT Director is responsible for leading the strategic and operational direction of the City's IT Department. This includes overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of technology infrastructure, systems, and services to support all municipal operations. The role ensures the secure, efficient, and compliant functioning of IT resources, manages departmental staff, technology projects, vendor relationships, and collaborates with stakeholders to align IT initiatives with the City's goals.

The IT Director will oversee daily operations, develop and implement IT policies, lead and mentor staff, manage infrastructure, plan technology initiatives, assess IT needs across departments, develop business cases, coordinate city-wide technology solutions, manage vendor relationships, and ensure security and compliance. The role also involves budget preparation and management.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, IT management, or related field, with at least eight (8) years of progressive IT experience, including five (5) years in IT management. Equivalent training and experience may be considered. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, pass a background check, and reside within Davenport within a specified timeframe.
