Job Title: Information Technology Coordinator Terms of Employment: 12 Months Pay Grade: 123 Job Summary: The IT Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of technology support services within the division's schools. This position oversees the Lead IT Technicians and IT Technicians, ensuring the timely resolution of support tickets, the consistent application of best practices, the enforcement of IT procedures and policies, and the delivery of high-quality IT service to staff and students. The IT Coordinator manages and monitors IT projects within schools, coordinates workload distribution, and serves as a key member of central IT administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of all instructional and operational technology. Essential Duties
Oversees and guides Lead IT Technicians and IT Technicians, including assigning work, setting priorities, monitoring performance, and providing coaching and guidance. Monitors the IT support ticketing system to ensure requests are prioritized appropriately and resolved within established timelines. Develop and maintain support procedures, workflows, and service-level expectations. Review progress, address challenges, and provide regular technical or procedural updates to the Director of Information Technology. Plan, coordinate, and oversee school-level Information Technology projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget completion. Assign project tasks and responsibilities to school-level Information Technology staff and monitor progress toward milestones. Work collaboratively with all school staff to ensure project requirements meet both instructional and operational timelines. Ensure the consistent and reliable operation of school-based technology systems, including computers, classroom displays, AV equipment, network-connected devices, and related software. Oversee preventative maintenance, routine updates, image creations, and enforcement of Information Technology procedures to ensure consistency across the school division. Assist in managing the lifecycle of school-based technology assets, including deployment, replacement, and disposal of old equipment. Serve as a primary point of contact for Lead IT Technicians and IT Technicians. Provide regular status reports to the Director of Information Technology regarding ticket resolution rates, project status, and team performance. Oversees parts requests, inventory, and parts ordering. Collaborate regularly with the central Information Technology administrative support staff to ensure support services align with their initiatives. Assist in training school staff in the effective use of technology systems when necessary. Participate in technology planning and process improvement initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned; after-hours work will be required at times. Minimum Education and Experience Qualifications Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field. Must also possess at least (2) of the following Technology certifications: CompTIA Server+, Security+, Project+, Microsoft Server Certifications, or equivalent. Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in IT support, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or team leadership role. Experience in K-12 school technology support is preferred. Strong knowledge of hardware, software, networking, and device management in a school or enterprise environment. Alternatives to the above qualifications shall be determined as the School Board or Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history. Physical Demands Performs work that involves sitting much of the time but often requires standing for extended periods; exhibits manual dexterity with the physical agility to lift up to 50 pounds; to bend, stoop, climb stairs, climb ladders, crawl under desks and in wiring access locations, pull cabling, walk, and reach overhead.
