Job Description :
What You Will Do
  • Responsible for answering calls in a call center setting
  • Answer live calls as well as fax calls for patients
  • Inputting patient data in triage software
  • Makes appointments and sends messages to clients through the triage software
  • Add/Change on call schedules as they become available in triage software
Additional Responsibilities
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications: Education
  • High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
Work Experience
  • 1+ years of experience as a medical receptionist, telephone answering service, hospital, or telephone company operator or related experience (Required) and
  • Medical terminology (Preferred) and
  • An associate's degree or higher will be accepted in lieu of 1 year of work experience (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Excellent spelling, strong interpersonal skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, proven good work and attendance record (Required proficiency)
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to use good judgment (Required proficiency)
  • Knowledge of basic office equipment such as computer systems, fax and copy machines (Required proficiency)
  • Demonstrate the ability to use PCs (and toggle between multiple applications) MS Office, and general office equipment (Required proficiency)
  • Excellent keyboarding/data entry skills (Required proficiency)
  • Detail-oriented and organized (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to function independently and as a team in a fast-paced environment (Required proficiency)
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills (Required proficiency)
