The IECMHSS program focuses on building the capacity of early care and education providers and families to promote healthy social emotional development for children in the five counties. The Program Director supervises all aspects of the program following the grant requirements. Examples of Duties The IECMHSS Director oversees all project activities performed by the Behavioral Support Specialists and staff that meet the requirements of the IECMHSS grant. These include: Coordinate caseload management and request for challenging behavior supports and intervention in early childhood care and education classrooms and programs.Provide support and professional development to IECMHSS Behavioral Support Specialists to include initial training on the program's process for site visits, classroom observations and communication with program director, staff and parents.Provide support and professional development to IECMHSS Family Engagement SpecialistMaintain training records on Behavioral Support Specialists and Family Engagement Specialists to ensure all are current with MSDE requirements.Facilitate IECMH referrals and evaluations.Conduct classroom observations and consultation when an IECMH Behavioral Specialist is not available for a given county or program.Provide administrative Reflective Supervision.Assist in the implementation of a Clinical Reflective Supervision program.Increase provider and parent knowledge about best practices through provision of professional development to program partners and identified stakeholders.Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports required by the grant on performance deliverables.Review data collection to improve areas of need for CQI.Supervise the planning and implementation of professional development events to include securing space, creation and dissemination of event announcements, management of participant registration and recruitment and support of trainers/presenters.Work with Early Interventionists/PART C specialists from the five upper shore public school systems to enhance their interactions with families they serve.Provide child-specific and general training on children's mental health issues to families and early childhood staff.Manage the fiscal aspects of the grant to include approval of Behavioral Support specialists' time and expenses; approval of grant funded purchases and review of monthly fiscal reportsPrepare purchase order requests, maintains equipment inventory, and distribute office and educational supplies to the specialists.Serve as a member of the eleven Judy Center Early Learning Hubs Steering Committees and five Early Childhood Advisory Councils serving the upper shore to build capacity of families and early childhood educators in regard to improving the mental health of children and adults.Coordinate Marketing and Social Media Specialists' dissemination of information via various social media platforms.Attend and participate in grant required meetings and trainings sponsored by Maryland State Department of Education and University of Maryland School of Social Work.Promote IECMHSS program awareness by attending community partner events.Other duties as assigned. QualificationsBSW, BA/BS in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Social Work or related field.
