In this position, you will be responsible for the prepping and the painting of the steel weldments. This position is also responsible for the set up, clean up, and maintaining of the multiple paint systems and paint booths. Should have knowledge of different coatings and application methods as it would apply to large steel weldments.Job RequirementsIdentify and obtain pertinent information from shop order and shop drawings regarding painting requirements.Set up and operate spray paint systems and pressure-pot paint spray systems to apply prime coat and topcoat paints. Work with solvents, cleaners, paints, and coatingsPerform safe operation of standard forklift and overhead cranes for movement of materialsPerform housekeeping in the painting areas; maintain operating supplies for painting and perform routine maintenance of all tools and equipment required by this position.Assist in prepping, sanding, and reworking paintFollow standard work proceduresAdhere to all safety standardsMinimum Requirements3 years of experience as industrial or commercial painter preferredRequires agility and ability to move up and down and around weighbridge modules.Required to stand and walk for long periods; reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
