🔧 Position Summary
The Beverage Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing production and packaging equipment in a fast-paced beverage manufacturing facility. This role requires mechanical aptitude, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
✅ Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair machinery including fillers, can seamers, labelers, case packers, tray packers, conveyors, pumps, mixers, and palletizers
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections
- Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics
- Maintain accurate records of work performed using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
- Assist with equipment installation, upgrades, and line changeovers
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Communicate effectively with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime
- Support continuous improvement and root cause analysis initiatives
🧠 Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical/trade school preferred
- 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical skills with basic knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Familiarity with bottling/canning lines and sanitary processing equipment is a plus
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
- Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed
🎯 Preferred Experience
- Experience with Angelus seamers, rotary fillers, depalletizers, or CIP systems
- PLC troubleshooting or programming exposure
- Welding or fabrication skills
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety practices
