Job Description :
Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Industrial Engineer to join our team during a pivotal growth phase as we expand into the aerospace supply chain. As a supplier to leading aerospace OEMs, we are building the systems, capabilities, and culture required to deliver world-class manufacturing performance.

The role will begin with a focus on defining and documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that ensure consistency, compliance, and clarity on the production floor. As the role progresses, the engineer will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce process variability, increase throughput, and improve first-pass yield through data-driven analysis and Six Sigma methodology.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and wants to directly contribute to shaping the technical and business foundation of a rising aerospace manufacturing supplier.

Responsibilities

· SOP Development & Documentation

Develop and maintain comprehensive SOPs and operator instructions that align with AS9100, customer requirements, and internal quality systems.

Translate complex manufacturing processes into clear, actionable documents to support training, consistency, and compliance.

Support internal and customer audits by ensuring documentation is accurate, accessible, and audit-ready.

· Aerospace Program Support & Business Process Development

Collaborate with quality, operations, and engineering to develop manufacturing systems that support current and future aerospace OEM programs.

Contributes to the establishment of business processes for traceability, configuration control, and customer-specific requirements.

Act as a technical contributor during customer program launches, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

· Process Capability & Variability Reduction

Use Six Sigma tools and SPC to assess and improve process stability and repeatability.

Conduct root cause analyses and implement effective corrective actions to resolve nonconformities and prevent recurrence.

Build and maintain process capability data (Cp/Cpk, Pp/Ppk) to support aerospace program quality metrics.

· Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement

Lead Lean initiatives such as standard work, value stream mapping, 5S, and visual controls to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.

Facilitate improvement events and measure their impact on key metrics like cycle time, yield, and throughput.

Engage shop floor teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

· Production Planning & Capacity Analysis

Conduct time studies, takt time analysis, and line balancing to support demand planning and production readiness.

Support rate readiness planning for aerospace programs and identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.

Monitor production KPIs such as OEE, scrap, rework, and first-pass yield.

· ERP, BOM & Costing Support

Ensure BOM routing and costing data in ERP systems is accurate and aligned with production and quality requirements.

Support engineering changes and product transitions with controlled documentation and traceability.

Assist with the integration of ERP and planning tools as the company grows aerospace capacity.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

· 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with exposure to aerospace OEM suppliers.

· Strong technical writing and documentation skills for SOPs, work instructions, and quality records.

· Proficiency in Six Sigma, SPC, and structured problem-solving methodologies.

· Familiarity with AS9100, First Article Inspection (FAI), with aerospace program requirements preferred.

· Analytical skills using Excel, Minitab, and Power BI (or similar tools).

· Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, operations, and quality departments.

Preferred Qualifications

· Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

· Working knowledge of APQP, FMEA, and control plans for aerospace customers.

· Experience in precision machining, aerospace assemblies, or metal fabrication.

· Experience supporting aerospace OEM audits or customer quality system validations.

· Proficiency in SolidWorks or other CAD tools.

· Process Flow Chart tools such as MS Visio.

· Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, etc.).

· Understanding of GD&T, NADCAP processes, and ITAR compliance.
