Job Description:

Our client is seeking a motivated Industrial Automation Application Engineer with a strong foundation in backend enterprise design and operational technology. The ideal candidate will have expertise in industrial automation, cloud computing, SCADA systems, and data integration. This role is integral to the company's digital transformation efforts, providing support, development, and troubleshooting for SCADA systems and automation applications.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Design and implement digital transformation strategies in the OT space
• Develop and maintain OT system architectures aligned with IT/business goals
• Integrate and support cloud-based OT solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Build and implement data pipelines for real-time and historical data
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for complex application issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, Engineering, Operations)
• Manage user authentication and access control using Okta
• Provide ongoing SCADA and automation system support and upgrades

Must-Haves:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience: 5+ years in Inductive Automation systems (e.g., Ignition, VTScada)
• Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms and OT systems
• Experience with data integration technologies (APIs, message queues, etc.)
• Proficiency in problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytics
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and in team settings

Nice-to-Haves:

• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC-UA, etc.)
• Experience with virtualization (VMware, VirtualBox) and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell)
• Ignition 8.1 Certifications
• Industry certifications (e.g., ISA, IEC 62443)
