Requirements

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist, Indirect manages a portfolio of indirect categories and projects. Responsibilities include establishing relationships with senior leaders, developing sourcing strategies, driving procurement initiatives, and establishing long-term agreements to optimize quality, service, and cost. Categories include Marketing Services, IT, Telecommunications, Consulting, Financial Systems, Human Resources, Travel, Fleet, and others.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate sourcing initiatives, develop category strategies, negotiate with suppliers, and lead supplier and stakeholder reviews.
  • Build relationships with internal teams including Programs, regional offices, Marketing, Finance, HR, IT, and Legal.
  • Ensure compliance with purchasing procedures and communicate policy changes.
  • Report monthly on savings, value analysis, and negotiations.
  • Implement annual savings programs and assist in budget development.
  • Source and qualify suppliers, conduct site visits, and evaluate potential suppliers.
  • Maintain supplier information and conduct market analysis for pricing and availability.
  • Assess suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and service.
  • Manage nonproductive resources and update procurement systems.
  • Serve as the point of contact for North American purchasing requests and new product developments.
  • Travel up to 25% monthly; extended hours may be required.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years in purchasing, preferably in indirect categories.
  • CPG industry experience is a plus.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of Laboratory Supplies purchasing is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and planning skills.
  • Ability to present data effectively to leadership.
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
  • Team-oriented with adaptability skills.
