Independent Living Skills Supervisor

Compensation: $27-$29/hour (based on education and experience)

Schedule: Full-time — Opportunities in San Jose (South Region)

ABOUT THE ROLE – What we value:

The ILS Supervisor integrates staff supervision with direct participant support while working closely with the program manager. The ILS supervisor provides engaging, community-based instruction in support of high-quality participant services. In addition, the ILS Supervisor provides mentorship, supervision, training, and curriculum development for ILS Instructors and volunteers.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of assigned staff
  • Support with department administrative duties such as mileage reimbursements, timecard accuracy and approvals, reviewing grids and month-end billing
  • Review participants' ISPs, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports and provide feedback as necessary
  • Responsible for case management duties including annuals, supporting Person-Centered Planning meetings, developing and implementing participant ISPs, tracking goal progress, case notes, incident reports, and other requirements
  • Onboard new participants and provide client assessments as needed in-person or virtually
  • Manage program coverage needs and provide direct services as needed in-person or virtually
  • Attend CRP meetings to report program outcomes
  • Create and distribute monthly ILS events, classes, and clubs calendar
  • Participate in agency functions, staff meetings, and trainings as scheduled
  • Assist with supporting program interns

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ years of previous work or volunteer experience supporting adults with disabilities
  • Previous experience in professional settings and work environments
  • Associate degree or working towards completion

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proof of negative TB test results
  • Verification of occupational physical clearance
  • Pass a criminal fingerprint clearance
  • 18 years of age or job permit clearance

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:

Instructor responsibilities include the physical support of adults with disabilities and driving to provide transportation as needed.

  • Physical stamina to engage in domestic, job training, and community activities
  • Ability to drive a vehicle and transport adults with disabilities
  • Lift up to 25 lbs. as needed
