Job Description :

The Import & Export Analyst II will be responsible for managing and coordinating the international shipment of goods. This role involves ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, optimizing logistics processes, and maintaining effective communication with suppliers, customers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate will understand import and export regulations and Harmonized Tariff Schedules (HTS), have excellent organizational skills, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and monitor international shipments to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of goods in alignment with schedules and budgets.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other third-party service providers to resolve shipping delays, documentation errors, or regulatory issues.
  • Prepare, review, and manage all necessary import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and Temporary Import Bond (TIB) documents.
  • Support and track Temporary Import Bonds (TIB), ensuring timely closure and reporting to mitigate financial exposure.
  • Maintain up-to-date and compliant records of all import/export transactions in accordance with regulatory retention policies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as sales, procurement, operations, and finance to align logistics activities with broader business objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze duty spend and identify opportunities for duty drawback, tariff optimization, and leveraging of free trade agreements (FTAs).
  • Stay current on changes to international trade laws, customs regulations, and industry best practices to ensure organizational compliance.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, compliance assessments, and risk mitigation initiatives related to global trade.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance shipment visibility, reduce transportation costs, and streamline import/export workflows.
  • Support freight rate negotiations and service agreements with logistics providers to drive cost savings and improve service levels.

Education, Work Experience, Skills and Competencies Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, International Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, import/export, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
  • Experience with ERP and trade management systems (e.g., SAP GTS, Oracle GTM) preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics management software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in logistics or international trade (e.g., CILT, APICS) is a plus.
