Job Description:
Our immigration law firm, serving the immigrant community for over 60 years, is seeking an experienced, motivated, full-time immigration associate attorney to handle a variety of immigration matters.
Duties & Responsibilities
Removal defense: Practice before the EOIR/Immigration Court. Extensive EOIR trial experience is a must. Experience with detained cases is a plus.Family-based immigration: Handle various family petitions and applications such as adjustment of status and NVC.Humanitarian cases: VAWA, Asylum, U Visas, TPS, etc.Must have experience with waivers – 212, 601 (fraud, criminal, etc.), 601A, etc.Include motions to reopen/reconsider and appeals (USCIS, AAO, BIA).Represent clients in NY State Court matters, especially Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) matters in Family Court. Experience with custody, visitation, guardianship, and child support matters is a plus.Experience in Federal Court including Petitions for Review and Writs of Mandamuses.Analyze client matters, conduct legal research, and occasionally provide strategy to our team of attorneys and paralegals.Basic Qualifications
Admitted to practice in the State of New York with 3-5 years of immigration law experience.Practice before EOIR, USCIS, and ICE.Strong communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.Highly motivated, hardworking, with a strong commitment to personal growth and development.Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word; experience with Docketwise is a plus.Fluency in Spanish or French/Creole is a plus.About The Kuba Law Firm
