Responsibilities:
Assisting Client Consultation
- Gather supporting documents for individual cases, address concerns and maintain positive client relations
- Assist attorney in consulting corporate clients on compliance with Department of Labor and Immigration Regulations
- Interview clients to identify clients immigration/visa issues
- Participate in extensive client communication, including, but not limited to, answering the telephones and confirming appointments
- Evaluate clients qualifications for certain immigrant and non-immigrant visas and advise clients on possible approaches
- Respond to questions from attorneys on general legal issues
- Participate in conferences or discussions between attorney and client
- Coordinate attorneys meeting and appointment schedules
- Provide status updates to clients and senior level team members
- Provide guidance to assignees regarding proprietary systems and case processing
- Initiate contact with government agencies to obtain necessary information
- Responsible for monitoring and tracking visa expiration dates and filing deadlines for assigned cases
- Compile and summarize large quantities of data for clients, managers, and reporting needs
- Meet assigned deadlines and communicate case progress/status/issues to supervisor
Preparing documentation *Prepare briefs and statements, including appropriate suggestions or recommendations
- Prepare and draft contracts for clients
- Draft forms, emails, or letters for clients about their legal concerns
- Prepare all kinds of response package to NIV RFEs
- Manage the status of all filed applications and petitions and finalize documents after attorney review
Doing Research * Perform research about laws, regulations, AAO Precedent/Non-Precedent Decisions, court decisions, precedents, documents, opinions, briefs, citations, or other information related to cases
- Learn about the various types of immigration matters
- Other duties as assigned
Candidate requirements:
- * LLM, JD, or legal-related degree.
- 1-2 years of experience as a paralegal or a similar role. A paralegal certificate is a plus
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin
- Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented
- Ability to prioritize and handle a fast-paced environment
- Punctual and reliable
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin is required
- Customer service-oriented communication skills
- A demonstrated interest and passion for immigration marketing
