Silicon Valley Medical Development is currently seeking a full time talented Imaging Specialist II to join our growing healthcare team!

Pay: $60-$72 Hour

Location: Willow Glen (San Jose, CA)

An Imaging Specialist II is a multimodality technologist who, under general supervision, will utilize high-frequency electromagnetic radiation (x-ray) to perform radiographic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. This includes operating conventional, fluoroscopic or portable radiology equipment in order to obtain radiographs of designated body areas. May perform or assist physicians with more complex examinations by mixing, preparing and administering contrast media, and assisting with sterile procedures. An Imaging Technologist II will also perform at least one high-level imaging modality in addition to general x-ray. The technologist will have additional responsibility of performing exams in Computer Tomography and/or Mammography.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures (may include fluoroscopic studies)
  • Provides excellent patient care practices by clearly explaining procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation
  • Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging procedures
  • Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician
  • Determines appropriate technique and exposure factors for optimal radiologic imaging for various body habitus and body parts while utilizing ALARA. This includes variations in age, height, weight, and anatomy.
  • Adjusts exposure factors to provide quality images for the radiologist or attending physician with proper radiographic details, density, and anatomical accuracy
  • Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and self
  • Models WeCare principles

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Performs and documents daily, weekly, monthly, annual quality control and quality assurance procedures as required by the FDA and/or CDPH
  • Maintains all the required documents and credentials for CA State and Federal regulations
  • Performs routine maintenance, diagnoses malfunctions, and makes minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed
  • Immediately informs management and the appropriate engineering department of equipment/maintenance failures
  • Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control
  • Completes forms and maintains records, logs, and reports of work performed
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, providers, and radiologists
  • Documents follow-up information on the system to generate appropriate letters to members and providers.
  • Contributes to the overall patient experience and satisfaction
  • Participates in performance improvement activities
  • Adheres to HR, safety, HIPAA and compliance policies, and attendance requirements
  • Completes annual health screening and online training modules
  • Performs work in accordance with established schedules, policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Associate in Science or higher
  • Current California Certified Radiologic Technologist License (R)(CRT) as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Current Radiology Licensure with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist – (R)ARRT
  • For CT - Current Computer Tomography License with the ARRT (CT)(ARRT) and Venipuncture Certificate of Completion
  • For Mammography - Current California Certified Radiologic Technologist in Mammography, completion of documented training and CEUs as required by the CDPH and FDA. Mammography credential with the ARRT, preferred.
  • BLS certification
  • Two (2) years of experience in diagnostic x-ray, recommended, and one (1) year of experience in a specialty (Computer Tomography and/or Mammography)
