We are currently seeking an ideal candidate for the position of Image & Video Catalog Manager to support an upcoming proposal with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Résumé of successful candidate(s) will be included with our proposal.The Image & Video Catalog Manager is responsible for organizing, curating, and maintaining the Protected Species Division's repository of multimedia data, including aerial and underwater imagery, used for species identification, behavioral studies, and public outreach.Responsbilities
- Establish and implement an image and video library from existing and new files. This may include gathering files from various locations, reformatting images, adding information to existing files, and developing a system to track and easily retrieve thousands of images and video files.
- Create and implement a structured catalog system for thousands of image and video files.
- Curate metadata, including tagging, reformatting, and tracking effort data.
- Ensure image/video data meet standards for species ID and scientific analysis.
- Support public outreach by assisting in development of multimedia content for web and educational tools.
- Collaborate with researchers to ensure appropriate usage, accessibility, and security of visual data.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in biology, fisheries media management, or related field.
- Experience managing large datasets and media libraries.
- Knowledge of file conversion, storage best practices, and metadata tagging.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with marine species, especially protected species
