Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Software Engineering Lead to spearhead our data initiatives, focusing on Azure Data Lake and its ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have deep architectural knowledge of Azure Data Lake and Databricks, a solid understanding of Azure security concepts, and proven leadership in delivering scalable, secure data solutions.
Major Responsibilities:
Architectural Design and Implementation:- Design and implement robust, scalable data architectures using Azure Data Lake and Databricks.
- Define and enforce best practices for data ingestion, storage, processing, and retrieval.
- Optimize data workflows for performance and cost efficiency.
Data Governance and Security:- Develop security measures for Azure Data Lake, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Manage RBAC, encryption, and security protocols within Azure.
- Collaborate on audits and vulnerability assessments.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:- Lead and mentor data engineering teams.
- Work with data scientists, analysts, and IT teams on data solutions.
- Promote agile practices and timely project delivery.
Platform Optimization and Monitoring:- Oversee deployment and management of Azure Data Lake and Databricks.
- Implement system monitoring and alerting.
- Evaluate new Azure services to enhance the platform.
Strategic Planning and Roadmap Development:- Create and execute data engineering roadmaps aligned with business goals.
- Stay updated on industry trends and Azure advancements.
- Advise on long-term data strategies, including lakehouse adoption.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 8+ years in data engineering, with 3+ years in leadership.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake, Databricks, and Azure services.
- Proven track record in large-scale data solutions.
- US citizenship required.
Knowledge and Skills:Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Deep understanding of Azure security, RBAC, encryption.
- Experience with data modeling, ETL, big data tech.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps in data engineering.
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Proactive problem-solving and analytical skills.
Qualifications:
- Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, Solutions Architect).
- Experience with data lakehouse architectures.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks like GDPR, CCPA.
