Utilizes the Rational Method, TR-55 method, and USGS regression equations to calculate flood discharges. Performs hydraulic design studies on simple bridge crossings using computer models. Designs pipe systems using storm sewer design computer programs. Calculates pre and post development flow rates to develop storm water management studies. Designs sideline and outfall ditches and increase familiarity with ditch protective linings. Designs sediment and erosion control devices, including sediment dams, ditch checks, and inlet structure filters. Analyzes large culverts and box culverts using culvert analysis computer programs. Determines inlet locations and performs spread calculations for storm sewer systems. Reads and interprets any set of road or bridge plans. Develops hydraulic grade lines for storm sewer systems. Performs other related duties as assigned.
