- Lead the development of combat vehicle auxiliary systems from derived system level requirements.
- Develop and review subsystem/component performance analysis related to auxiliary systems including as a minimum heating/cooling performance, fluid power and flow.
- Manage design and development of subsystems such as HVAC, seating, and hydraulics working with the auxiliary systems assigned design staff as well as other multi-disciplinary functions.
- Prepare and present design development status to management and customers
Supervisory Responsibility:
- Coordinate design development including the management of designers assigned to auxiliary systems development.
Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing)
- Working understanding of vehicle HVAC and NBC collective protection systems
- Understanding of combat vehicle fire suppression systems
- Understanding of vehicle chassis level fluid power systems
- Understanding of combat vehicle seating systems
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work within CAD based design systems
- Knowledge of or ability to learn model based systems engineering techniques
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
- 7 to 10 years of relevant experience working with combat vehicle auxiliary systems design or closely related systems
