Overview

We're seeking a results-driven HVAC & Plumbing Service Manager to lead our residential home services division. This role blends team leadership, operational oversight, and strategic execution in both HVAC and plumbing service environments. You'll manage field technicians and installation crews, ensure service excellence, and drive revenue growth—while building a career path toward senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise and develop HVAC and plumbing service technicians
  • Conduct interviews, training, evaluations, and regular ride-alongs
  • Facilitate weekly team meetings and performance feedback
  • Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and customer-first service

Operational Management

  • Oversee daily scheduling, dispatch, and field coordination
  • Ensure efficient job execution and minimal downtime
  • Maintain service quality, proper permitting, and compliance with OSHA and safety standards
  • Track KPIs, workflow, inventory, and technician productivity

Customer Service & Retention

  • Address customer issues promptly with urgency and professionalism
  • Promote and grow Club Membership and loyalty programs
  • Ensure every homeowner interaction reflects company values and results in high satisfaction

Sales Strategy & Growth

  • Train techs to identify upsell opportunities and present solutions ethically
  • Build promotional packages and service scripts for in-home sales
  • Track and improve conversion rates, average ticket size, and total revenue

Budget & Resource Oversight

  • Manage service fleet, tools, equipment, and departmental inventory
  • Monitor budgets, margins, and operational costs
  • Review and approve new services, equipment, and operational investments

Administrative & Strategic Planning

  • Complete field paperwork, personnel reports, and expense submissions
  • Prepare operational reports for leadership and identify improvement areas
  • Provide input on customer trends, market conditions, and service innovations

Qualifications

Experience & Education:

  • 3+ years of HVAC and/or plumbing service management (residential strongly preferred)
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Skills & Tools:

  • Microsoft Office proficiency; ServiceTitan experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of permitting, code compliance, OSHA standards, and field service management

Physical Demands & Conditions:

  • Ability to lift 15–100 lbs and work in outdoor conditions (extreme heat/cold)
  • Frequent site travel and ladder use; ability to inspect rooftops and confined areas
  • Combination of office, warehouse, and field environments
