Position Type: Maintenance/Custodial Date Posted: 7/14/2025 Location: Districtwide District: Austin Public School District #492 Austin Public School District is seeking to hire a full time HVAC Engineer Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm Performance Responsibilities: Maintains, installs, repairs, plans, and modifies plumbing systems throughout the school district. The Engineer monitors the boiler system for various buildings. Performs other tasks assigned. Duties:
- Repairs and replaces piping, fixtures, faucets, valves, traps, and associated parts.
- Ability to maintain area of responsibility in a clean neat order.
- Knowledge of and skill in use and care for plumbling tools, methods and material.
- Knowledge of local and state plumbing codes and regulations.
- Able to plan and cost jobs.
- Able to interpret, read, and develop instructions, blueprints, and specifications.
- Ability to perform general boiler operating procedures to include; filling the boiler, getting up steam, maintain water level, cutting in the boiler, and economical operations.
- Repair and replace kitchen equipment.
- Ability to determine and repair boiler, and heating systems, causes and restores system to operation.
- Operate computers.
- Experience with BAS.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: 1. High School Graduate 2. Plumbing Experience - Knowledge of and skill in use and care for plumbing tools, methods and material. Knowledge of local and state plumbing codes and regulations. 3. Computer Skills 4.
