Job Title: Subject Matter Expert (SME) in High Voltage Safety and Emergency Response

The SME will develop engineering standards for emergency response to effectively manage associated challenges and address compliance errors related to our commitments to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). The role involves incorporating lessons learned into future initiatives and adopting a proactive approach to replace the current reactive strategy.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain Emergency Response Standard CS.00250.
  • Develop and deliver Power-down processes to pre-production organizations promptly upon receipt of process inputs.
  • Review and approve HV Safety-related Service procedures.
  • Develop and deliver pre-production Rescue Sheets for development vehicle fleets in NA.
  • Review and approve new Emergency Response Guides and Rescue Sheets from suppliers for both current and legacy programs.
  • Provide guidance on compliance and due care issues.
  • Collaborate with Stellantis personnel to resolve challenges.
  • Offer technical guidance on non-automotive standards applicable to the organization, including coordination of diverse NA PowerPanel applications.
  • Serve as North American Compliance Champion for State of the Art as defined by the Global FUSA organization.
  • Be available as a subject matter expert for all aspects of Stellantis related to high voltage safety and emergency response issues.
  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited university, or extensive relevant experience in electrification safety, emergency response, and regulatory compliance.
  • At least 8 years of experience in product engineering design and development, focusing on systems and product development processes.
  • Expertise in:
    • High Voltage safety, including hardware integrity and performance standards.
    • FMVSS-305, pending 305a, and ECE R-100 regulations.
    • OSHA regulations related to electrical safety, vehicle service, and emergency response.
    • Emergency response procedures for electrified driveline systems.
    • Lithium-ion battery failure modes and pathology.
    • Proactive safety mechanisms for xEV and Li-ion manufacturing, testing, and servicing.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and Stellantis practices (CS.00250 & CS-A0403).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • English language proficiency at B2 level.
